Boys' Bathroom Project
It all started with water coming through the kitchen light fixtures. Had to tear out the boys' shower enclosure to find the leak. Found the subfloor destroyed, and the shower framing had to come out to replace the subfloor. The shower had a false ceiling to cover plumbing that should have been inside the ceiling and walls. That also came out. The ceiling was trashed in the process, and I wanted to re-route the plumbing INSIDE the ceiling and walls, so the rest of the ceiling came out. The knee wall was built on flooring that was damaged, so it came out. The vanity was falling apart, so it came out. The wall behind the vanity had been opened up to run a gas line to from the attic to the kitchen, and had never been closed up, so it came out. The previous owner had built a false wall behind the shower to keep from re-routing a vent stack. This took space that could have been used for the shower, so it came out.
By this time, all the bathroom sheetrock was gone.
